In a ceremony held in Abuja on 27 March 2025, In a collaborative Initiative between London Bridge Business School (LBBS- UK) and the Africa Institute of Public Administration (AIPA-Ghana) Africa's apex institution dedicated to professionalising Public Administration has awarded Chionye Hencs Odiaka an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humane Letters, honoris causa (DHL), a Distinguished fellow of the Africa Institute DFAI and Certified Management Professional ( CMP) a globally recognized Certification of Competency in Management.
The prestigious degree of Doctor of Humane Letters ( DHL) is an Honorary Doctorate Degree awarded for lifetime achievements to those who have distinguished themselves through humanitarian and philanthropic contributions to society. The recognition is a testament to Chionye's dedication and commitment to years of hard work to humanitarian work and professional growth.This title is a symbol of the institutions respect for his significant impact on the society as a whole.
The honorary degree, Dr. Chionye Hencs Odiaka, DHL. is a distinguished humanitarian, Emergency Management Professional and Political figure dedicated to improving human welfare and community resilience. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Global Relief and Emergency Assistance Foundation (GREAF), a Non- Profit organization committed to providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Through GREAF, he has actively championed emergency response initiatives, offering critical support to communities affected by crises. During COVID 19 Pandemic, the foundation provided sensitization and 6,000 free face masks to vulnerable communities in Delta State reinforcing his commitment to humanitarian service. Beyond his humanitarian efforts, Chionye Odiaka has played a significant role in Nigeria's Political landscape.He is a founding member of The All Progressives Congress (APC). He was The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Councilorship Candidate representing Ajao Estate Ward in Isolo LCDA in the 2011 General Elections in Lagos State. He was also the Action Democratic Party(ADP) Senatorial Candidate representing Delta North Federal Constituency in the 2023 General Elections demonstrating his commitment to public service and governance. His candidacy reflected his dedication to advocacy, development and the upliftment of his people in Delta State.
Odiaka is a Certified and licensed "Global Peace Ambassador" and "Fellow Member " of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management. He also holds several Professional Development certifications from some of the World's most prestigious institutions which include Professional development certification in Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster from Harvard University, Professional Development Certification in Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School of Government Harvard University, Professional Development Certificate in Politics from the University of Oxford United Kingdom, Professional Development Certificate in International Humanitarian Law(IHL) from Université Catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) Belgium, Professional Development Certificate in Climate Literacy for Emergency Managers from Columbia Climate School, National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP) Columbia University United States.
His expertise extends to International Humanitarian and Emergency Management policies and equiped him with the necessary skills to address humanitarian and emergency management challenges effectively. His dedication to excellence in humanitarian and emergency management has earned him recognition and awards.
