The Executive Chairman, Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye has banned the operation of motorcycle riders within Aniocha North Local Government Area in an effort to counter the recent surge in security challenges within the Local Government Area.
The directive with a header, Ban on Movement of All Motorcycles ( Okada) From 9 pm To 6 am, was conveyed in a statement dated November 28, 2024, and signed by the Local Government Secretary, Kennedy Okoh on behalf of the Executive Chairman.
According to the statement made available to the public, “ Sequel to the current security challenges experienced, the Aniocha North Peace and Security Committee, having analysed exhaustively the threats to lives and properties in the locality have henceforth imposed a ban on movement of motorcycles (Okada) from 9 Pm to 6 Am within Aniocha North LGA with immediate effect “.
The statement warns that all relevant security agencies have been alerted and shall not hesitate to deal ‘ decisively with any defaulter’. Offending riders will also have their motorcycles impounded with effect from Saturday 30th November 2024, the statement further warns.
